French Ligue 1 Strasbourg vs Guingamp 12-01-2018

RC Strasbourg vs EA Guingamp
Competition: French Ligue 1
Date: 12 January 2018
Venue: Stade de la Meinau
Kick-off Time: 20:45 GMT

RC Strasbourg players will do their best to celebrate at home, where they made 03 wins and 01 draw in the championship, while, after overtime, they defeated Dijon with 3-2. Otherwise, one of these championship victories was made in early December and it was over the leading Paris Saint Germain, which later revenged to them in the League Cup when they were defeated as guests with 4-2.
Strasbourg was defeated away By Metz with 3-0, while, before that, they made three wins, so they are still at the top of the 11th place on the table and have 05 points more of the teams that are in the relegation zone.  Defenders, Ndour and Corgnet, are both still out of action due to injuries, while the striker Terriera is also questionable for Saturday.
Guingamp, on the other side, are welcoming this duel with Strasbourg in the best form since the beginning of the season, taken into account that they made 03 wins and 01 draw in the championship, while, six days ago in the National Cup, they routinely celebrated with 1-0 at home over Niort. These brilliant performances have brought them the escape from the relegation zone, so they currently occupy the 8th place on the table and have 07 points over the 18th Lille.
On the other hand, EA Guingamp is 12th points behind the positions that lead to European competitions, which means that their main goal in the continuation of the season will be to further consolidate their ranks in the middle of the table and, thus, secure their place in the elite rank, while they will certainly look for their chance for placement in Europe through the French Cup. The experienced midfielder Didot and striker Camara are the only ones out of action, while the presence of the injured defender Pereire is also very questionable.

Probable lineups:
Strasbourg: Oukidja – Lala, Mangane, Kone, Seka – Martin, Aholou, Grimm, Lienard – da Costa, Bahoken
Guingamp: Johnsson – Ikoko, Kerbrat, Sorbon, Tabanou – Deaux, Diallo – Salibur, Blas, Coco – Briand

FC Nantes vs Olympique Marseille - Competition: French Ligue 1

FC Nantes team return home after losing on the road to ASSE last time out. The hosts have been woeful on the road of late, and though they did statistically out-shoot and out-possess the Greens on Sunday, they will be eager to get back to the friendly confines of the Stade de la Beaujoire. At home, the Canaries have accumulated 24 of their total 40 points and have gone unbeaten there in 16 of their 20 competitive fixtures this season. Furthermore, they rank 6th in the French top-flight for least goals conceded at home (14 through 16 games), which is due in large part to the anchoring play of Papy Djilobodji and goalkeeper, Remy Riou. The Canaries also saw the returns of Bessat, Gomis, and Deaux last time out as manager Michel Der Zakarian begins to get a healthy squad once again. Zakarian and his band of marauders will take confidence into the weekend despite losing back-to-back games, as not only are they unbeaten in 8 of their last 10 competitive home games, but they have also gone unbeaten in 9 of their last 10 Ligue 1 home meetings against OM. 5 of those meetings ended in victory for Nantes, and while we don’t expect that to happen here, they should have enough to steal a crucial point in their pursuit of the top 10.
Olympique Marseille are seeing their title hopes dwindling away with just 6 French Ligue 1 matches remaining. At 5 points adrift PSG and sitting in 4th place, the Phocians need to get back to winning ways if they hope to get into the UCL places and possibly push for a late title challenge. The defending champions from Paris have seen their talisman Ibrahimovic suspended for the next 4 league games, and that has left the door open for an exciting chase to the French title. 6 teams can still realistically claim the pinnacle at season’s end, but manager Marcelo Bielsa will hope to see his troops at least finish in the top 3, knowing that overtaking PSG, OL, and AS Monaco in the table will be a monumental task. While the visitors’ schedule looks favorable outside a home clash with Monaco, history here says otherwise as they have failed to win 9 of their last 10 Ligue 1 away games against Nantes. They did conquer the Canaries 2:0 in the reverse fixture this season, but the hosts have been able to give them plenty of trouble at the Stade de la Beaujoire. Their last 2 meetings there have ended in 1:1 draws, and the hosts do an excellent job of frustrating opposing attacks with one of the better defensive records at home this season. However, OM should have enough to at least pick up a point here with Andre Ayew returning from suspension and Nicolas N’Koulou expected back from injury (questionable), though it appears they very well could be held in check once again by the feisty Canaries.

Probable lineups:
FC Nantes:  Riou – Cissokho, Vizcarrondo, Djilobodji, Veigneau – Hansen, Veretout – Gakpe, Bedoya, N’Koudou – Bammou.
Olympique Marseille:  Mandanda – Dja Djedje, Fanni, N’Koulou, Morel – Romao, Imbula – Ocampos, Thauvin, Ayew – Gigna.

AS Saint-Etienne vs RC Lens
Competition: French Ligue 1, 2014/2015 (Matchday 24)
Match date: 06 February 2015
Kick Off Time: 19:30 GMT
Venue: Geoffroy Guichard (St. Etienne, France)

Coach Galtier finally realized the offensive deficiencies and tried to redress the situation. Unfortunately the change in system was of no use in-front of a club like Caen, who beat Saint Etienne 1-0 at home last round. Saint-Etienne, who are now same points as 5th-placed AS Monaco, have failed to score in three consecutive league games, remain seven points behind third-placed PSG. Galtier’s men need to put more emphasis on the offensive aspect in the upcoming match against Lens. Winger Monnet-Pacquet is still injured but St Etienne have enough attacking potential in midfield thanks to Hamouma and Mollo. ASSE are currently on 6th place in the home standings with 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats, a goal difference of 14:5 and 21 points.
Lens team lost two times in their previous four league matches and continued with weak efficiency. They currently sit on the 19th position, three points behind the safe zone. The left side is Lens’ main weapon. Most of Lens’ actions were started by fullback Boulanger, continued by play-maker Valdivia, who got engaged in fast paced actions with forward Coulibaly. However, their main strategy for stopping the opponent seemed to be agglomerating a certain area. Last round Ahmed Kantari scored an 80th-minute penalty to earn Lens a 1-1 draw against in-form Bastia at home. RC Lens dominated the early stages of the game, and they came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock when Pierrick Valdivia dragged an effort just wide from the edge of the box. They are currently on 13th place in the away standings with 2 wins, 3 draws and 7 defeats, a goal difference of 9:16 and 9 points.

Probable lineups:
Saint-Etienne: Ruffier – Theophile-Catherine, Baysse, Perrin, Tabanou – Lemoine, Clement – Hamouma, Corgnet, Mollo – van Wolfswinkel.
RC Lens: Riou – Cavare, Gbamin, Kantari, Baal – Cyprien, Le Moigne, Valdivia, Nomenjanahary – Chavarria, Coulibaly.

Friday, 12 September 2014, 8:30 PM. Stade Gerland, Lyon, France

Olympique Lyon team have gotten off to a nightmare start to the season, finding themselves in 17th place in Ligue 1 with just 3 points from 4 matches. Furthermore, they bowed out of the Europa League in the Play-off Round of qualifying to the Romanian club, Astra (lost on away goals with a 2:2 aggregate). Big things were expected from new manager Hubert Fournier, who led Stade de Reims back into the French top-flight after a 33-year hiatus, but nothing has gone his way so far, including having to deal with an extensive injury list. Creativity is lacking, mainly due to the absence of key midfielders Fofana, Grenier, and Gourcuff. Fofana and Grenier are expected to miss once again this Friday, while Gourcuff has returned to training, and Les Gones could be in serious trouble at home without them. They do possess one of the top attacking talents in the French league with Alexandre Lacazette, and he can always make a difference at any given moment. He formed a solid chemistry with striker Gomis last season, but the large forward has since moved on to the EPL with Swansea City, leaving a noticeable hole up top, especially with Mohamed Yattara headed to the medical room alongside a host of his teammates. They will be eager to set things right after losing their last 3 matches in Ligue 1, but if recent form tells us anything, that streak very well could be extended against AS Monaco.
AS Monaco have had a similarly disappointing start to the season, claiming just 4 points from 4 league matches so far. The 2013-2014 runners-up will be keen to climb the table after surprising defeats to Lorient and Bordeaux left them without a point from their opening matches. But form has picked up a bit, as they collected a 1:0 road win over Nantes and a 1:1 draw against fellow French heavyweights Lille. However, the lone goalscorer in the Nantes victory was the Colombian star Radamel Falcao, who has since been loaned to the EPL to play with Manchester United in a surprising eleventh hour transfer. The departure is devastating for Monaco’s Champions League hopes, both of returning as well as advancing from this year’s group stage. Coupled with the loss of James Rodriguez, new manager Leonardo Jardim must find a creative answer and a reliable lead man in the squad. Dimitar Berbatov is certainly capable, but his aging legs leave a lot to be desired in terms of speed. There are grumblings around the Monaco camp already, mainly aimed at Jardim and his new system, but the truth is he needs time, and the players need to buy into his philosophy if they hope to return to the Champions League next season. Good news comes in the form of loaned-in Brazilian centre-back Wallace as well as coming up against an injury-plagued Lyon side.

Probable lineups:
Olympique Lyon: Lopes – Jallet, Bisevac, Umtiti, Bedimo – Mvuemba, Gonalons, Ferri – Gourcuff – Lacazette, Ghezzal.
AS Monaco: Subasic – Fabinho, Abdennour, Carvalho, Kurzawa – Moutinho, Toulalan, Kondogbia – Ferreira Carrasco, Berbatov, Germain.

AS Monaco vs Paris Saint-Germain
Football: France, Ligue 1, Game week 23rd
Date: Sunday, 09 February 2014 – 9 pm CET
Stadium: Stade Louis II, Monaco, Monaco

Everyone at AS Monaco are still in shock after the news regarding a long-term injury of their topscorer Falcao. The player will not be able to help his teammates in the race to championship. His successor has just been brought to France. In the transfer period AS Monaco bought from English Fulham the former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov. The upcoming matches will show if the Bulgarian international was a good choice. AS Monaco somehow coped with the first two games without Falcao – they won against Marseille and drew 2:2 with Lorient. When the last five games are taken into account, Monaco managed to win three and drew the other two. Their home stats are quite good: 8 wins, 2 losses and only one loss. Altogether Monaco lost only two games this season in Ligue 1: against Lille and Valenciennes.

Paris Saint-Germain team are not without injury problems. The manager Laurent Blanc does not have at his disposal the topscorer Cavani, who is sidelined with an injury for a couple of weeks. Yet, the situation is not as bad as it seems since they have in the squad Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish magician has already scored 18 goals, which gives him the title of the best scorer in France. Moreover, the Paris side strengthened their ranks brining from Newcastle United the French international Cabaye. Such a duo can determine the score and help PSG to increase their advantage from five to eight points. It would also be a big step to the championship. In the last three games they won two and drew one.

Possible line-ups:
AS Monaco: Subasic – Raggi, Carvalho, Abidal, Kurzawa – Toulalan, Kondogbia, Moutinho – Rodriguez – Berbatov, Riviere.
Paris Saint-Germain: Sirigu – van der Wiel, Alex, Thiago Silva, Maxwell – Motta, Cabaye, Matuidi – Lucas, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi.

Stade Auguste Bonal will be hosting on 16 August 2013, an French Ligue 1 match between Sochaux and Lyon. The match referee  will be Said Ennjimi.
Lyon will enter the game with 4 players missing: three were injured and one was suspended for a red card. Not having home pitch advantage, shouldn’t be a obstacle for the French team, which won 10/13 games and scored a total of 27 goals. Coach, Garde, will use a 4-5-1 starting formation with Benzia as the only striker, and three of the midfielders are frequently joining Benzia up front.
The other French team, Sochaux, will try to wear down the visiting team and count on the fact that Lyon will be facing Real Sociedad next week in a decisive double legged round. The team tried to garantee passage to the Champions League groups, which means that the visiting team will not throw everything they’ve got at Sochaux. So, to secure a draw, the hosting team will strengthen its defense.

Possible line-ups:
-FC Sochaux: S. Pouplin - S. Corchia, M. Peybernes, C. Kanté, J. Faussurier - J. Eickmayer, Carlao, R. Boudebouz, R. Contout - E. Butin, C. Bakambu.
