AS Roma vs Napoli Italian Serie A - 04-04-2015

AS Roma vs SSC Napoli - Competition: Italian Serie A
Match date: 4 April 2015 - Kick Off Time: 11:30 BST
Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Roma

AS Roma team ended last match-day their poor streak of 5 games without a victory in Serie A. After great start and being one of the best home teams, now they are without a home victory in last 7 games. Before the international break they won 0:1 in away game against Cesena. From last 5 home games they gained just 4 points. In March they were hosting Juventus (1:1) and Sampdoria (0:2) in Serie A as well as Fiorentina (0:2) in Europa League. They lost contact to Juventus and now they must fight for the 2nd place with Lazio Roma, Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Napoli who are really close to each other. Roma won last three home games against SSC Napoli in all competitions, but earlier this season they lost 2:0 to them. There are few injured players like M. Pjanić, K. Strootman, Saido Keita, Gervinho and F. Totti, who couldn’t help the team in recent games. A. Ljajić who is the best scorer in the team made return to National Team and played 85 minutes in France 2016 qualifications against Portugal. R. Nainggolan had an assist in National Team during this break.
SSC Napoli team after great start of the new year (6 wins in first 7 games) are without a win in last 4 league games. They also lost last three away games in Serie A. From last 5 games played they gained just 5 points and that’s even worse than Roma’s six points. They won last 3 games against Roma, but all this games were played in front of their home fans. In away table SSC Napoli are placed on the 5th place with: 6 wins, 3 draws, 5 loses and 21 points gained. They are also on the 5th place in Italian Serie A table, 6 points behind the 2nd Roma. They must at least draw in this game if they want to keep close contact to UCL places. G. Higuain who scored 13 goals in Italian Serie A this season is best scorer in the team. He played just one National game during the international break, so he shouldn’t be tired. SSC Napoli lost last three away games (3:1 against Palermo, 1:0 against Torino and 2:0 against Verona). There are no new injures in the team after Nation Teams games.

Probable lineups:
AS Roma: de Sanctis – Torosidis, Manolas, Yanga-Mbiwa, Holebas – Pjanic, de Rossi, Nainggolan – Iturbe, Doumbia, Ljajic.
SSC Napoli: Andujar – Maggio, Albiol, Koulibaly, Ghoulam – Lopez, Gargano – Callejon, Hamsik, Mertens – Higuain.

FC Barcelona vs Manchester City
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Match date: 18 March 2015
Venue: Camp Nou (Barcelona, Spain)

After seeing Martin Demichelis sent off shortly before the hour mark, goals from Messi and Dani Alves at the Etihad Stadium last week have hindered Manchester City’s chances of advancing into the last-eight of the competition.
FC Barcelona have suffered two defeats in three La Liga outings since the first leg in Manchester. They went down 3-1 at Sociedad and most recently 1-0 at Valladolid and although they won a home game 4-1 against Almeria, they are now in third spot in the Spanish title race and four points behind league leaders Real Madrid. Iniesta missed the weekend encounter and is expected to sit this one out. Puyol is still out of action due to injuries as well as Cuenca and Jonathan Dos Santos. Apart from those absences, Gerardo Martino has no selection worries at the moment.
After beating Sunderland in the League Cup final last week at Wembley, City’s hopes of an illustrious quadruple winning season hit a huge snag a surprising 2-1 FA Cup defeat at the hands Wigan a repeat of last season’s final.
Manchester City will be boosted with the return of Sergio Aguero to European football after his absence from the first leg. Demichelis is suspended, while head coach Manuel Pellegrini will serve a touchline ban. Lescott and Javi García are in contention to replace Demichelis alongside Vincent Kompany at the heart of City’s defence. Nastasic and Jovetic are doubtful.
Pellegrini’s team have already won at the Allianz Arena this season where they came from 2-0 behind to beat the European champions and the Spanish champions have shown themselves to be vulnerable on occasions this term even if they boast a fine array of attacking players.

Probable lineups:
FC Barcelona (4-3-3): Ter Stegen; Alba, Bartra, Piquè, Dani Alves; Iniesta, Mascherano, Rakitic; Neymar, Messi, Suarez.
Manchester City (4-2-3-1): Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov; Fernando, Yaya Tourè; Milner, Nasri, David Silva; Aguero.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Chelsea FC
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Match date: 11 March 2015
Kick Off Time: 19:45 GMT
Venue: Stamford Bridge (London, England)

Chelsea FCfind themselves in a much stronger position than last season when they welcomed Paris Saint-Germain to Stamford Bridge with a 1:3 deficit. But a well-fought 1:1 draw in the first leg has the hosts in prime position to advance to the quarterfinals on Wednesday evening. The ever-reliable Branislav Ivanovic bagged the goal for the Blues in the French capital, but it was arguably backup goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois who took man of the match honors with a number of fantastic saves. In truth, they were a bit lucky to have escaped the Parc des Princes unbeaten, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed a few opportunities that proved his mortality. Now, the hosts will enter the midweek with a camp full of confidence, as not only have they recently claimed the ELC title but they are also 5 points clear of the rest of the pack in the EPL with a game in hand as well. Furthermore, they are unbeaten in 21 of their last 22 home matches in all competitions, claiming victory on 17 of those occasions. While last season’s hero in this fixture was the departed Demba Ba, summer signing Diego Costa is even more of a threat up top and will be eager to get back to scoring ways after slumping a bit since returning from a multiple-match suspension. While this game may take extra time for the Blues to advance, advance they should as they push on in their treble quest in 2015.
Paris Saint-Germain have temporarily stolen 1st place from Lyon with a comfortable 4:1 win over Lens on Saturday. Lyon will play on Sunday and the Parisians’ place atop the pile could be short-lived, but their crushing win will have given them confidence ahead of their clash with Chelsea. They have now gone unconquered in their last 15 matches in all competitions, managing to claim the win in 10 of those contests. Furthermore, Thiago Silva received a welcome rest over the weekend and Thiago Motta made a healthy return to proceedings. In Silva they have one of the best defenders in the world and coupled with former Chelsea centre-back David Luiz, there’s plenty of reason to expect a good performance from the visitors on Wednesday. However, the Blues are very difficult to play against at Stamford Bridge, and the travelers have lost 3 of their last 6 Champions League road games (dating back to last season). Furthermore, they have managed to score just 4 total goals in their last 5 competitive matches away from home, and while their competition certainly hasn’t been easy over this stretch, Chelsea will present a far-sterner test in the English capital.

Probable lineups:
Chelsea: Courtois – Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta – Matic, Ramires – Willian, Fabregas, Hazard – Diego Costa.
PSG: Sirigu – van der Wiel, Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, Maxwell – Verratti, David Luiz, Matuidi – Cavani, Ibrahimovic, Lavezzi.
