Sunderland vs Manchester United
Competition: English Premier League
Match date: 24 August 2014
Kick Off Time: 16:00 BST
Venue: Stadium of Light, Sunderland

The hosts recorded a 2-2 draw against West Bromwich last weekend taking an early lead but then falling behind before a Seb Larsson equalizers late on salvaged a point. . Last year, Sunderland have pulled off one of the great Premier League escapes from relegation and knocked United out of the Capital One Cup.
Gus Poyet will welcome defenders Billy Jones and Santiago Vergini back into his squad. Jordi Gómez could be hoping for a starting berth after coming off the bench last time out while Steven Fletcher is expected to lead the line. Adam Johnson and Connor Wickham occupied the wide roles last week, and could keep their places, though Charalampos Mavrias and new signing Will Buckley offer alternative options. Giaccherini, who continues his recovery from a groin injury, is the only absence for the Black Cats.
Louis van Gaal didn’t have the dream start he was hoping in his debut match against Swansea City at Old Trafford as  Red Devils were defeated 1:2. The Dutch manager has admitted his players lack confidence and even worse his squad looks dangerously lacking in depth.
New-signing Marcos Rojo could make his debut after signing for United on Wednesday as Jesse Lingard is unlikely to feature after limping out of Saturday’s curtain-raiser, while Luke Shaw and Michael Carrick are injured. Ander Herrera has been ruled out through injury, meaning Tom Cleverley and Darren Fletcher could be paired together in central midfield. Robin van Persie is expected to play only a part while Fellaini will be ruled out for two weeks. Jonny Evans could be fit to return in time to play and replace the yuong Blackett.
United won ten of 19 Premier League road trips last season and they accumulated more points on their travels than they managed at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were beaten in the first leg of a League Cup semi final on this ground last season but they have not lost a league game at Sunderland since 1997.

Probable lineups Sunderland: Mannone – Roberge, Brown, O’Shea, van Aanholt – Cattermole – Johnson, Larsson, Rodwell, Wickham – Fletcher
Probable lineups Manchester United: de Gea – Jones, Smalling, Rojo – Valencia, Herrera, Carrick, Shaw – Mata – Rooney, Welbeck

Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, Madrid

Real Madrid 1-1 Atletico Madrid (Super Cup 1st Leg)
81' James Rodriguez 1-0 // 88' 1-1 Raul Garcia

Real Madrid team failed to grab a win in the first leg of their Spanish Super Cup battle against Atletico  as both teams shared a 1-1 draw at Santiago Bernebau.
Eager to maintain their positive home match up against Atletico, Madrid immediately took control of proceedings, but overcoming Diego Simeone's men were far from an easy task.
No goals were scored during the first 45 minutes and things got rather irritating for Madrid since their star man, Cristiano Ronaldo picked up an injury in that half.
In the second half, Los Blancos continue to dominate despite playing without Ronaldo and their dominance was eventually rewarded with a goal from James Rodriguez on 81 minutes.
However, a slack defending on corner gave Atletico a shout back into that tie as Raul Garcia nodded home an equalizing goal two minutes before the full 90 minutes mark.

Real Madrid starting lineup vs Atletico Super Cup 2014:- Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Carvajal, Alonso, Modric, Bale, Kroos, Ronaldo, Benzema.

England Premier League, 2014/2015 - Matchday 1
Saturday, 16 August 2014 11:45 GMT
Venue: Old Trafford, Manchester, United Kingdom

Van Gaal’s arrival has restored optimism around Old Trafford this summer thanks to an impressive pre-season campaign. United come into the new season after winning the last encounter 2-1 against Valencia in the pre-season friendly. Prior to that, the Red Devils were in the USA for a pre-season tournament named the International Champions Cup where they beat both Liverpool and Real Madrid by a 3-1 scoreline, Roma by 3-2 and drew 0-0 against Inter Milan.
The Dutch manager will not be able to count on the contribution of Van Persie, who is currently injured, and Danny Welbeck or Chicharito Hernandez will certainly take his place up in the front. New signing Luke Shaw is sidelined so Ashley Young could get a chance to prove his worth at left wing-back. Antonio Valencia, Rafael and Michael Carrick are all looking unlikely to play too.
Swansea put up some interesting performances during the pre-season matches but they have been heavily defeated by Villarreal last Saturday at home. They have brought in a handful of new recruits including Gylfi Sigurdsson, Lukas Fabianski, Bafetimbi Gomis and Jefferson Montero to somehow compensate for the departures of Michu, who joined Napoli on loan, Michel Vorm and Ben Davies, who signed for the Spurs.
Monk will be without Emnes (knee) and Leon Britton (knee) for the trip to Old Trafford. Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge missed the friendly defeat to Villarreal but are expected to return to the side for Saturday’s fixture. The duo are both in contention for the wide roles against United, with summer signing Jefferson Montero another option. Kyle Bartley has featured prominently at centre-half in the absence of the now-departed Chico, and is likely to start alongside Ashley Williams
Man United and Swansea City faced during the first game of the last season as well at the Liberty Stadium and the Red Devils sealed a 4-1 win in David Moyes' debut as manager. Anyway, few months later the Swans did cause an upset winning 2-1 at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. Swansea won just 5 of 19 games on the road last season and picked up just a single point away against the top 4. There has been just one draw in the past eight meetings between the sides

Probable lineups Manchester United: de Gea – Smalling, Jones, Evans – Valencia, Herrera, Carrick, Mata, Shaw – Rooney, van Persie.
Probable lineups Swansea City: Fabianski – Rangel, Williams, Amat, Taylor – Britton, Shelvey – Dyer, Sigurdsson, Routledge – Bony.

Venue: Wembley Stadium, London

Arsenal 3-0 Manchester City (Community Shield)
21' Santi Cazorla 1-0 // 42' Aaron Ramsey 2-0 // 60' Olivier Giroud 3-0

Arsenal made a positive impression ahead of English Premier League opener as they snatched the Community Shield trophy after defeating Man City.
Both teams were keen on making their mark just before the real battle start, but it was Arsenal that got things going when Santi Cazorla puts them in front on 21 minutes.
Man City tried to get back into the tie, but instead of grabbing an equalizing goal they found themselves in further trouble when Aaron Ramsey netted home Gunners second three minutes before half time break.
In the second half, City continue their surge for an equalizer, but Manuel Pellegrini's men were finding it hard to break down Gunners defense. Besiktas vs Feyenoord Champions League 06-08-2014

Beşiktaş vs Feyenoord Rotterdam
Champions League Qual. − 2014/2015 − 3. Round (second leg)

The club from Istanbul has a good position to take the next step in direction of the UEFA Champions League. The “Black Eagles” had to go through some pressure by the dutch hosts early on in the game. They still managed to mark the first goal. In the 13th minute, Mustafa Pektemek headed in a corner by Oguzhan Özyakup. The often important away goal gave Besiktas a boost of confidence and so they could shut Feyernoord down until the half time whistle. In the second half, the Turks created some offense themselves instead of trying to take home the 1:0 lead. And it worked for them quite nicely. In the 70th minute Kerim Frei, a turkish international who played two games for the swiss Under21 team, scored for Besiktas to make the away-goal advantage even bigger. Despite the fact that Feyernoord scored from the spot in injury time, Besiktas is very confident to reach the next round. Coach Slaven Bilic warned his squad not to be to sure about reaching the next round by saying: “We have to be extremely cautious because they are a strong side.” The turkish league starts in late August and so this was the first serious challenge for the Turks. Besiktas has a strong team and with Demba Ba, who came over from Chelsea FC, they added a high-quality striker.
The penalty shot goal by Mitchell the Vrede in the 95th minute, saved the last chance for Feyenoord to proceed to the next round. They played quite well in a well filled De Kuip stadium but couldn`t hold Besiktas off from scoring. In addition to that, they couldn`t convert their ball possession in any real chances. Three important players left Feyernoord in this transfer period: Graziano Pelle (Southampton), Bruno Martins Indi (FC Porto) and Daryl Janmaat (Newcastle United). Stefan de Vrij, a talented defender who had a good performance during the World Cup in Brazil, signed with Lazio Rome last Wednesday. Feyenoord couldn`t compensate these big losses, the great days of Feyenoord in the 1970ies aren`t likely to come back soon. Feyenoord will attack like they have nothing to lose to make the rather impossible mission,  reaching the next round, possible. They too have to deal with the spectacular atmosphere in the stadium of Besiktas, that managed to intimidate some of the opponents` players in the past.

AC Milan vs Liverpool
Competition: Guinness International Champions Cup
Match date: 2 August 2014 - Kick Off Time: 23:30 BST
Venue: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina

A 3-1 win on penalties over Man City on Wednesday in New York positioned Liverpool at the top of Group B. Despite trailing twice in that game, Brendan Rodgers' men equalised twice, with Raheem Sterling scoring five minutes from time to make it 2-2. In the first match of this tournament, the Reds defeated Olympiakos thanks to an early goal of Raheem Sterling. Before of this tournament, they were beaten by Brondby 2-1 and Roma 1-0.
Rodgers is likely to continue to rotate his team in preparation for the opening day of the season, which is now just 15 days away. Lazar Markovic picked up a minor knock in training but is reported to be available to take part in this clash while new signing Dejan Lovren has been unable to obtain a work permit in enough time to join up with his new teammates in the States. Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert started the match against Manchester City and they could do so again.
AC Milan’s relatively poor showing from the last Serie A season seems to continue in their international efforts.  They had two poor performance so far with Olympiakos and Manchester City both running out comfortable winners against them. The Greek side cruised past them 3-0 while City beat the Rossoneri by 5-1. Even if AC Milan win their last battle in the group stage of ICC, they can no longer qualify for the finals.
New manager Pippo Inzaghi is still working on the winning formula. With enigmatic striker Mario Balotelli still out of form, the Rossoneri will be looking towards Stefan El Shaarawy to step up. He will be partnered by Pazzini in attack. Cristante will be once again in the starting lineup as well as Saponara and Essien. Jeremy Menez should play during the second half as well as De Sciglio. Montolivo is still injured and will be available in a couple of months.
Saturday’s meeting will be the first time the two clubs have met since that forgettable defeat in Athens of May 2007, in which the new boss Inzaghi scored two goals.
