Real Madrid vs Barcelona
Competition: Spanish Primera Division
Date: 23 December 2017
Kick-off Time: 13:00 GMT
Venue: Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid
This Clasico is very important to Real Madrid that in the case of a defeat, the team can surrender the trophy of the Spain’s champions to FC Barcelona to take it with them. Real Madrid is 11 points behind, or, to be realistic, eight, because it has one match less, but it will play away against Leganes.
Real Madrid failed to win the last two away derbies in their favour and they did not even scored Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid, but at the same time the team is encouraged that only Malaga has managed to score against them in the previous five rounds. It is also encouraging that Real Madrid celebrated with a convincing 5-0 against Seville FC, and won the new title of the world club champion, and this is already a whole series of trophies in just over a year. It is also important that the team is complete and that it doesn't have any injured players.
Unlike Real Madrid, FC Barcelona could not have played more relaxed in El Clasico as they can now, before this holiday break. The team has made big advantage over their biggest rival but also over Atletico Madrid and Valencia so it is clear that they can get a lot from this match and not lose too much. The last defeats that FC Barcelona experienced were from Real Madrid in the Super Cup and it was when the Catalans did not seem to have anything to look for in the new season, but it all turned in the meantime and Barcelona is not losing in any of the 03 competitions they are playing.
Barcelona's players can only blame themselves for that home draw with Celta Vigo a few rounds ago, after which they made three wins, and routinely confirmed the 1st place in their group of the UEFA Champions League and they have not received any goals in the 03 mentioned games. Along with Atletico Madrid Barcelona has the best defence in the league and the most efficient attack, but unlike their host, they have some injuries in the team. For the time being, Umtiti’s absence was not felt much in its game, however, it could happen in this duel, while Deulofeu and P.Alcacer are out of action.

Probable Lineups for this EL Clasico:
Real Madrid: Navas – Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo – T.Kroos, Casemiro, Modric, Isco – Ronaldo, Benzema
FC Barcelona: ter Stegen – S.Roberto, Pique, Vermaelen, J.Alba – Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitić, Paulinho – Messi, L.Suarez
