Chelsea vs Arsenal - Competition: English Premier League
Match date: 5 October 2014 - Kick Off Time: 14:05 BST
Venue: Stamford Bridge, London

Chelsea team face off once again with a fellow title challenger. The Blues did well to bag a point on the road against Manchester City a couple weeks back, although they were admittedly disappointed not to see all 3 points after having the lead with just 10 minutes to go. But former club legend Frank Lampard undid their good work, netting the equalizer for the opposition to deny Chelsea their reward. Nevertheless, the London-based club have responded well to that sudden shock, stringing off 3 straight competitive victories. That stretch included their 3:0 thrashing of Aston Villa in which Brazilian wonderkid Oscar flashed his scoring boots. The midfielder has loads of talent, but his indecision at times costs him, and fulfilling potential is easier said than done. Jose Mourinho may have lost a bit of trust in the flair player and will be tentative to hand him the start in such a critical contest, but there are suitable replacements waiting in the balance. The hosts have lost just once in their last 31 English Premier League home matches, but victory will be the only thing on Mourinho’s mind headed into Sunday.
Arsenal sprang alive over the midweek. With an extensive injury list that ruled out many of their starting players, the visitors put together arguably their best performance of the season. A Danny Welbeck hat-trick saw off the Turkish visitors, and manager Arsene Wenger will be more than pleased with his newly-purchased weapon. Pace, power, high work rate, and calm finishing wrap it all up for the Englishman’s day, as the former Manchester United man scored 3 goals in a match for the first time in his career. The confidence from that contest will be vital to the Gunners success this Sunday, but the reality of matters is they have a horrendous road record against the big boys of the EPL. Of course, the players know this and will be flying at the start to avoid a similar fate to that of last season’s when they fell at Stamford Bridge 6:0, but that doesn’t change the fact that psychological factors may end up creeping in if Chelsea get out on top.

Probable lineups:
Chelsea: Courtois – Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta – Matic, Fabregas – Willian, Oscar, Hazard – Diego Costa .
Arsenal FC: Szczesny – Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs – Flamini – Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere, Ozil, Sanchez – Welbeck.
