AS Roma vs Manchester City
Competition: Champions League
Match date: Wednesday, 10 December 2014
Kick Off Time: 19:45 GMT
Venue: Stadio Olimpico, Rome, Italy

AS Roma were very close to qualify but they conceded 1-1 draw against CSKA Moscow during the injury time. They will qualify with a win and will also advance if they draw and CSKA hold Bayern in the other Group E game. A goalless draw would be enough if CSKA don't win against Bayern Munich. If CSKA lose, Roma will progress with a goalless draw but not a score draw. Domestically, the Giallorossi sit second in the standings as they have only mustered a 2-2 draw at home against Sassuolo on Saturday and that stalemate saw them remain three points behind Juventus.
Radja Nainggolan, Gervinho and Francesco Totti didn't start against Sassuolo on Saturday. They should all be fresh and in the starting XI. Maicon is set to be recalled, but Daniele De Rossi is expected to be left on the bench. Vasilis Torosidis is a doubt and will be assessed closer to kick off. Serbian striker Adem Ljajic should retain his starting berth after bagging in a brace in the 2-2 draw with Sassuolo at the weekend.
To go through to the knockout stages of the competition, City have to win or force a score draw with Roma, while bettering the result CSKA achieve in Bayern’s Allianz Arena on Wednesday. If Manuel Pellegrini's side lose against Roma, both Man City and CSKA will be out of the Champions League this season. The Citizen have only arrived in the Italian capital with any chance of progressing thanks to a stunning late comeback against Bayern Munich last time out.
Sergio Aguero ruled out through a knee injury and Yaya Toure is banned. Captain Vincent Kompany might yet be ruled out. Pellegrini will include David Silva in his squad for the first time since October. Fernandinho, Stevan Jovetic and Matija Nastasic are all doubtful but Edin Dzeko has returned into action.
Before the game against Sassuolo, Roma side have won all their Serie A fixtures in the Olympic Stadium by at least two goals. Manchetser City have conceded at least 2 goals in 8 of their last 10 matches in the UCL. Furthermore, Roma have won their last three home games against sides from the EPL.
