Tottenham vs Manchester United
Competition: English Premier League
Match date: Sunday, 28 December 2014
Kick Off Time: 12:00 GMT
Venue: White Hart Lane, London, United Kingdom

Tottenham are doing well lately as they look to add to their win list against a very tough visiting club in Manchester United. They will need all the help they can get if they are to win after the short rest presented to them in this painfully difficult 2nd match in 3 days. At home this season, Tottenham have won 4 matches but also lost 4 matches in their 9 home games played. They are not the best at home clearly though they have picked it up recently with no losses over their previous 5 home matches in all competitions after starting off so poorly. No injuries to be mentioned here as they are a fully fit squad which will help them this time of year. Christian Eriksen will need to add to his solid 7 goal tally this season in Premier League play if Totts are to come away with any points here as they try to catch up with the rest of the top teams in the EPL. After beating Leicester City 2-1 on the road on a late Eriksen goal Friday, Tottenham will love going back to their home stadium, and their strategy should be very solid despite the opponents impressive streak against them there. The main worry is defense here as they will play some of the most inventive talent in world football, needing to shut them out until they manage to score if Totts are to win this game on Sunday. Keeper Hugo Lloris will want to add to his 3 Clean Sheets, but he may need to wait for an easier offensive opponent to collect his 4th at home. Tottenham will play well on Sunday if they keep to their game-plan and don’t let Man score to quickly. Expect quite the showdown here as these 2 teams dislike each other thoroughly despite no rivalry between them.
Man United team have been in elite form and it showed on Boxing Day Friday against a weak visiting Newcastle United whom they dismantled 3-1 in Old Trafford. Just 2 days later they have to travel into White Hart Lane to face the very solid Tottenham Hotspur who are coming off a 3 game winning streak themselves. Manchester United are no joke anymore after a down year last season, and they will be ready for this grueling episode 2 of weekend football on Sunday. On the road, they are not great by any means as they have only managed 2 wins over 8 away Premier League matches. They have scored 11 goals over these 8 away games while allowing 12 to opponents with a paltry 1 Clean Sheet over this span. Manchester United will need Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling to step up in a big way on the back-line Sunday as they return from an injury hiatus over the last few games. If Angel Di Maria can play as well, expect Manchester United’s streak of staying undefeated against Tottenham over their last 13 visits to White Hart Lane to continue. After a pair of impressive goals on Friday, Wayne Rooney will look to continue his brilliant midfield form as we fully expect him and striker Robin Van Persie to add to their stat sheet with relative ease. Manchester United will need all 3 points as Spurs are starting to close the gap between them being a mere 5 points away in the tables.

Probable lineups:
Tottenham: Lloris – Walker, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose – Bentaleb, Mason – Lamela, Eriksen, Chadli – Kane.
Manchester United: de Gea – Jones, Smalling, Evans – Carrick – Valencia, Mata, Rooney, Young – Falcao, van Persie.
