After its demanding match against Olympique Lyon, Grashopper Zurich team was held to a goalless draw by bottom placed Lausanne in the Swiss Super League on Saturday.Grasshoppers has done poorly if we take in considiration the fact that Lausanne made three consecutive defeats before facing GCZ. Michael Skibbe’s side will now focus on its second leg match against the French team, in which it will have to score without conceding a goal in order to at least take the tie into extra time.Although, Grasshoppers lost the first leg (0-1), its solid first half performance gives the players hope ahead of the return fixture in Switzerland.
Though, Olympique Lyon is not in its best form, it could be happy with the first leg result and, luckily for it, it managed to win the first match against the Swiss team without conceding.
Alexandre Lacazette and Grenier were not able to convert their opportunities against GCZ, so the French team needed a defender to put them ahead. Bisevac’s excellent header made the difference at Stade Gerland last week.
By the time, Olympique Lyon’s officials are still working on improving the squad, on Thursday they’ve announced the transfer of left-back Henri Bedimo from Montpelliers, who would be joining Lyon on a three-year-deal.
